People and Their… brought together work by participants in the Principles of Visual Design course that emerged through a series of prompts, shared constraints, and open scores over the Fall 2025 semester at CEU.
On view were publication experiments, sculptural arrangements, and spatial interventions shaped by repetition, accumulation, misalignment, and pause. Many works began as exercises: make a mess, rearrange the mess, release the mess into the world. Others emerged through installing and reinstalling, testing how images, objects, and bodies hold space together.
The course treated looking as a decision. To pause and attend to relations rather than positions. Here, looking was not consensus or resolution, but sustained attention practiced over weeks of making, undoing, and returning.
Rather than presenting finished answers, the exhibition operated like an open score. The room became part of the work, sequencing remained provisional, and meaning shifted depending on where you stood, what you chose to skip, and what lingered beyond the edges of an evening.
